Ingredients

  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant banana cream pudding mix
  • 2 cups half-and-half (or whole milk)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • electric mixer
  • Rubber spatula
  • Serving bowl

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix, half-and-half, and vanilla extract until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes. Set aside.
  2. In a separate large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in half of the Cool Whip until smooth. Add the remaining Cool Whip and beat again until creamy and fully combined.
  4. Add the pudding mixture to the cream cheese mixture. Beat or fold gently until smooth, fluffy, and well combined.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with sliced bananas and crushed Nilla wafers. Serve with cookies, fruit, or graham crackers.

Notes

The dip thickens as it sits. If it becomes too thick after refrigeration, mix in 1–2 tablespoons of milk to loosen the texture.
