  • 1 box Funfetti cake mix, heat-treated
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz whipped topping or homemade whipped cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5-7 tbsp milk, as needed for consistency
  • 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles (for garnish)

Equipment

  • electric mixer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet or microwave-safe bowl
  • Rubber spatula

Method

  1. Spread cake mix on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes, or microwave in 30-second intervals until the mixture reaches 165°F. Cool completely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and whipped topping for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the cooled cake mix to the bowl and beat until well combined with no dry streaks remaining.
  4. Add vanilla and 5 tablespoons milk. Mix, adding additional milk as needed until reaching your preferred dip consistency.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with rainbow sprinkles just before serving.

Notes

Always heat-treat raw cake mix for food safety. Add sprinkles just before serving to prevent color bleeding.
