Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned or rolled oats (50g)
  • 2 tsp chia seeds (7g)
  • 2 Tbsp packed light brown sugar (20g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, 4g)
  • 2/3 cup milk of your choice (160g)
  • 2 tsp instant coffee or espresso (5g)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate syrup, cocoa powder

Equipment

  • Mason jar or sealable container for prepping and storing oats
  • Spoon for stirring ingredients together

Method
 

  1. Add oats, chia seeds, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to a jar or bowl.
  2. Mix instant coffee into the milk, then pour over the oat mixture. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  4. Before serving, stir again. Add more milk if thinner texture is desired. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or cocoa powder.

Notes

Store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Add a splash of milk before serving if you prefer thinner oats. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or cocoa powder for a fun mocha twist. Double or triple the recipe for meal prep!
