This iced vanilla matcha latte blends the earthy flavor of matcha with sweet vanilla and chilled milk to create a refreshing, energizing drink. Naturally rich in antioxidants and calming L-theanine, this cafe-style drink is easy to make at home and endlessly customizable.

Ingredients

Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte

  • 1 to 1.5 teaspoons matcha powder preferably ceremonial grade
  • 1/4 cup warm water not boiling, ~160°F
  • 3/4 to 1 cup milk of choice dairy, oat, almond, or coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 tbsp vanilla syrup
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sweetener honey, maple syrup, or monk fruit, optional
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  • Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  • Add warm water and whisk using a bamboo whisk or frother until frothy.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and sweetener (if using) into the matcha mixture.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in the milk of your choice.
  • Pour the matcha mixture over the milk and ice. Stir gently if desired, or enjoy layered.

Notes

For a floral twist, add 2–3 drops of lavender extract. To turn this into a protein shake, blend with vanilla protein powder and a frozen banana.
