Ingredients
  

Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte
  • 1 to 1.5 teaspoons matcha powder preferably ceremonial grade
  • 1/4 cup warm water not boiling, ~160°F
  • 3/4 to 1 cup milk of choice dairy, oat, almond, or coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 tbsp vanilla syrup
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sweetener honey, maple syrup, or monk fruit, optional
  • Ice cubes as needed

  • Bamboo whisk or milk frother
  • Measuring spoons
  • Tall glass
  • Sifter (optional)

Method
 

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  2. Add warm water and whisk using a bamboo whisk or frother until frothy.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and sweetener (if using) into the matcha mixture.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in the milk of your choice.
  5. Pour the matcha mixture over the milk and ice. Stir gently if desired, or enjoy layered.

Notes

For a floral twist, add 2–3 drops of lavender extract. To turn this into a protein shake, blend with vanilla protein powder and a frozen banana.
