Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened (full-fat blocks)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning mix (1 oz)
  • 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup green onions, thinly sliced

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or spatula

Method

  1. Allow cream cheese to come fully to room temperature so it blends smoothly without lumps.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream together until completely smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add ranch seasoning mix and blend on low speed until evenly incorporated.
  4. Using a spatula, gently fold in shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, and green onions.
  5. Transfer dip to a serving bowl, cover tightly, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  6. Top with extra bacon and green onions if desired. Serve chilled with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

For best flavor, chill the dip for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the ranch seasoning to fully hydrate and the flavors to meld. This dip is best served cold and does not freeze well.
