Ingredients

  • 70 g salted butter (about 5 tablespoons), softened
  • 325 g marshmallows (about 4 1/3 cups)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 25 g freeze-dried apple, crushed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 160 g Rice Krispies cereal (about 6 cups)

Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • mixing spoon or spatula
  • 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Grease or line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Cut butter into chunks if not already softened. Melt in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Once butter has melted, reduce heat to medium-low. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, crushed freeze-dried apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice until evenly combined.
  5. Pour in Rice Krispies cereal and mix thoroughly with a rubber spatula until all cereal is coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared pan. Use the butter wrapper or greased spatula to press it evenly into the pan. Let cool for 20–30 minutes before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

Tip: For extra apple flavor, drizzle with melted white chocolate mixed with apple pie spice once cooled!
Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. Avoid refrigerating to maintain soft texture.
Optional Add-In: Stir in ¼ cup chopped dried apples or caramel chips for a decadent twist.
