Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 cup ice if using fresh strawberries
Optional Garnishes
  • lime wheels or wedges
  • strawberry slices
  • salt, sugar, or tajin for rimming
  • mint sprigs

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Citrus juicer
  • Cocktail glass

Method

  1. Chill your margarita glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Wash, hull, and quarter the strawberries if fresh; thaw slightly if frozen.
  3. Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip in salt, sugar, or tajin if desired.
  4. Add strawberries, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and sweetener to a blender.
  5. Add ice (only if using fresh strawberries).
  6. Blend until smooth and slushy, about 30–45 seconds.
  7. Adjust with water or juice if too thick, or more ice if too thin.
  8. Pour into chilled glass and garnish with strawberry and lime. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make a pitcher by multiplying ingredients. Add ice just before serving. Try flavor variations like strawberry-basil or spicy jalapeño. Use frozen berries for extra chill and less dilution.
